Im kinda new here cuz I really love the Expo, its a wonderful device! And reading everything here its just fantastic on how much work you guys put out for this phone!

While searching the LG site in the US, I came to this link that offers an update to V10G. On my model its V10D. I wonder whats new? I'll try it when I get my expo back. (it had some power issues...)

http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/mobile-support/mobile-lg-gw820-software-update.jsp

In the meantime, Ill appreciate everything that you guys are doing here! ?? Grin

Quick question. Where and how did you find this. I can't seem to get to it by searching and the update doesn't appear in the the updater program yet.

I got an error too. I'm downloading again just to make sure it wasn't a bad download.

UPDATE: Figured out why there was an error. Forgot to run it in xp compatibility mode and as an admin since I'm using win7.

Initially this rom seems to be pretty good. Looks like they fixed the GPS Driver issue. The fingerprint sensor seems to be working better too. Overall it seems to be running pretty smooth. I don't remember if Idles let you do this before, but I noticed that it allows you to choose any ringtone as your ringtone. I also noticed that they restored some of the sounds and notifications settings on the windows mobile side, but not all so the sounds and notifications cab will still be necessary for those using this stock rom.. There is even a way to access it through Idles now. The Idles UI isn't really any better though than the original stock. overall I have to say this rom is an improvement over the original stock, but there is still room to improve. I'll be dumping the rom soon and should have a custom rom for this soon.

UPDATE: When switching from LGIdles back to the Titanium plugin it got stuck between the the two.

Thanks for the prompt report. Few more things to look out for:

Button mapping: are the hardware keys visible to mapping and emulator programs now?
Graphics drivers: any improvement here in benchmarking results?
Signal strength: same or different?
Screen sensitivity: this would be a miracle

Button Mapping: No changes
Graphics drivers: Haven't ran any tests yet.
Signal Strength: Seems to be a little better. Will need to test it in more areas.
Screen Sensitivity: Seems to be the same, but I used the paperclip trick so I can't say if they changed anything.

Thanks so much for the update. Looking forward to your updated ROMs, if just for the improvement in signal strength. Have all of your recent builds been based off of an iQ?

The IQ was used as a base, but I used the OEM from the eXpo. I used the IQ as the base in order to gain extra storage memory. There is ~ 17 MB of memory hidden from us on the eXpo.

UPDATE: I spoke too soon about the GPS Driver. As soon as the clouds came in I couldn't get a good connection. I installed the cab with the drivers from the GW825v and I'm good again.

One big difference with the new ROM is that it has Microsoft MMS.

Have you had a chance to look at this yet?

I dumped it yesterday (but haven't really gone through anything) and noticed that like the 825v the Flash.bin is multiple segments that dzdecrypt merges. I don't know what that means for cooking with it ...  Undecided

Also, the date on this one is earlier than the 825v, which explains at least partially why it's got the crappier gps drivers.
