Thanks for the cab.

Checking out the settings, I notice a lot of sounds I'd never noticed before. Were they always there, or added by the cab?

I see that the voicemail notification is set to play a sound I've never heard before - Alarm 3. (I don't even think I had it set to have a sound before).

When LG made this phone they excluded a lot of the sounds and notification settings that windows mobile phones have. I think it was so that people would use the settings in LGIdles. This cab simply restored those settings.

Sounds like you're saying the sounds were already there somewhere on the phone.

(Part of my confusion is that when you say "sounds and notifications" there and in the thread title, it sounds like you are saying "sounds, and notifications settings", and not "sounds and notifications settings". To clarify, you are referring to "missing settings", not "missing sounds, and settings", right?)

Did this cab, by revealing the missing settings, change/turn on my voicemail alert?

The cab did set the voicemail alert to alarm3. Alarm3 already existed on the phone.

Thanks, Dark.

I'm curious as to where those tones are stored. Seems they aren't in the expected places.

I like your avatar, not only because it is cool, but also, when I am reading threads, out of the corner of my eye, it looks like Phantom Limb from Venture Bros! I think it's the purple color, and part of the hand looks like his mask.

No problem. The tones are in the windows folder on the phone.

I just got the phone and noticed i couldnt change the text noises but many other options were available,  I am glad I ran across this site.

Is the installation complicated? Or do I just extract the file to some part of my phone, this is my first phone that has this Windows set up so I still need adjusting.

I noticed of the Woodholes tweaker and wonder if i should try that instead, but this seems much simpler for my needs. Would having it in LG idles instead of the way it was before change anything or make it more difficult to deal with?

Thank you for the time you took to make this file btw! i am so glad to hear that there is a way to eliminate that annoying "message sent" feature!

Hello Sabot, Welcome to the fourms. Smiley Smiley

It's really easy, just download the .cab file onto the phone an use the built in File Explorer and goto the .cab file an click it an let it run.

This .cab is a part of the tweaker app, whcih offers more then just the missing sound controls, well worth your time to look into it, theres a couple extra steps outlined in the tweaker app thread, but well worth it.

Theres a link in my signature to go directly to it.

If you have any troubles, let us know an we'll do what we can to help you along.

Peace

Thank you i got it installed and it got rid off the "message sent" feature!

But im still limited to the same choices in the options where i can customize the text msg sound, whereas the phone call option lets me use my custom sounds.

How do i get around this so i can put my custom sms tone in there?
Im trying to stick that "1up" sound from super mario for the texts but it only pulls through for the ringtones options but not the texting ones.

I will definitely give the tweaker a look now though.

Hmm, I suspect your using the option menu in messaging?

That would be your problem, use Sounds an Notifications to control all sounds an events.

Sms tones, alarms go into application data/sounds and ringers usually go into the windows folder itself or under mydocuments/my ringers.

Hope that helps
