Here is a cab that will disable Infrared and Smartcard features. These features are not supported on the eXpo. It will also disable Disable Software. Disable Software is used by the providers to disable certain software from running on the phone. By disabling it it allows us to run whatever the providers don't want us to run. By disabling these features we free up some memory and allow for faster booting since it doesn't have to load the drivers for them.

What kind of software would it disable exactly?

Not 100% sure, but I do know that it isn't necessary. On the Incite with it enabled I wasn't able to access a camera program that AT&T was working on, but didn't finish. I don't know why AT&T included it, but they did. Once disable software was disabled I was able to access the program and found the video recorder to be better than the LG one.
