If you don't use voice command then it is just eating up ram because it runs in the background. To disable it go to start menu>file explore>windows>startup and delete Voice Command. You will notice an increase in ~3 MB of RAM on startup. It's not much, but it is a little something.

Go to Start Menu-> Settings-> Personal -> Voice Command and uncheck "enabled" has the same effect.

Yeah ol' voice command, love it an hate it at same time.

I bought this software a couple years ago, when it was a stand alone app, just about the time a new bug appeared in 1.6, I paid $40 and it never worked until 6.5.

Is this the same app as the MS Voice Command?  I just assumed LG had put in their own dumbed down version of a voice command and never bothered to try it out.  I also bought it a few yrs back but have yet to use it that often.

I also just delete the command for it in the start up folder so it would not load up in the background.

Don't forget also: if you WERE using Voice Command at all (even tried it out a bit) the sound recognition files are stored in phone memory under \\Application Data\Microsoft\Speech\Files\User Lexicons - if you don't plan on using Voice Command again, clearing this out frees up even more memory.

Yes. If you disable voice command the alarm won't wake the phone.

What are you guys talking about? I disabled the Voice Command the first week I got my Expo, by removing it from \\Windows\Startup, and have never had a problem with any alarm waking the phone - WinMo standard one, Lg one, SPB ones, or G-Alarm.

Sorry. I forgot to mention that problem will only happen if voice command was never enabled. Once voice command is enabled and then you disable it the alarm problem won't present itself.

Ah, that makes more sense. Yeah, I did try it out for a week with my new BT headset to see if it worked any better than with my old one (it didn't) before disabling it.

IDK, maybe it's just the pitch of my voice (more in the bass range) but I always had to say commands in kind of a nasal robot monotone to get it to recognize anything, and even then I could never quite get the command part to work. I could get it to call people sometimes, but like "open  Contacts" or "Start Opera" just never quite worked as advertised.

Oh I see, practice some maybe if you like it at all.. Smiley

Couple commands I like are,
 What is my signal strength
and,
 What is My power level.

For programs, say it as is I believe,
Start menu, Opera..

I don't use that option alot, but I think thats it..

Hmm, maybe I had the syntax wrong all this time. Played with it several times on my Tilt over the last year, and it just never quite ended up being worth the hassle. By the time I had repeated something 12 times, I might as well have navigated to it on-screen, or pulled over and called normally.

Could be my voice, could be I just never set it up right...
