Rogue, I can tell you from experience that I was never able to get the voice command to function properly until the 6.5.1 and higher builds. I don't know why, but anything before that I had to repeat myself constantly until I finally just dialed a number myself.

Thanks for that Dark. Nice to know that it may not have been me messing it up for once, lol. I may give it a try again now at some point, but for now I don't see the real need for Voice Command unless you're doing a lot of driving or walking and need your hands free - just my opinion though.

I  guess I am one of the exception to the rule...
In every group, there has to be One!!
I have always loved VC..
In past phones: 8525 and Xperia X1. VC performed well. There were always few rough edges.. But I could lived with it...

Now comes the Expo with VC on the Rom... It is running great for me!!
It even announces the caller's id and reads new text messages!!!! This one function that never work on my other phones!

Yes there is a recognition problem. But I have notice it is a sensitivity problem with the mic! If don't hold the phone to close to my face, I have about a 85% recognition( not having to repeat what I said). Now I am looking for a mic agc control like in my other phones....

BTW If your are one of the few who are still using VC, you can activate it by holding down the "accept" key. This the key under the fingerprint/d-pad key!!

Reads out caller ID and new text messages? May have to give it another try and really play with the setup this time. Thanks for the additional info.

Reads out caller ID and new text messages? .........
Yes!!!
It is great when I freak out one of my clients when my phone speaks to me...
For caller ID, it will announces the caller then switch to whatever rings you have set(mine rings and vibrates)

Are those options you can enable/disable as you please (or as environment dictates)?

You can set them in the voice command settings under settings/personal/voice command. Once you have it loaded choose options and select a setting.

Nice. Thanks guys  Smiley  I didn't use it long enough the first time to really dig into any of the advanced features - just tried to get it to voice dial my fiancee and got disgusted when it wouldn't.  There's no AGC option for the Expo's mic though?? That would help things quite a bit - did wonders on my Tilt at least.

Yes everything is controlled in the VC menu(under setting/personal)
FYI, I tend not to change thing much(going into VC menu...)
I just use the volume rocker switch on the side.. I can mute all sound and switch to only vibrate. All with one hand!!

good Luck,

No word on gain control for the mic though?  Perhaps one of those innocuous looking .exe files hiding amongst the rest in the main Windows directory?
