Don't know if anyone uses hotmail, but I still do for personal mail and calender.  I un-installed Windows Live on my phone and followed the server settings at the bottom of the article, and now my exchange account on my phone is my hotmail account, complete with contacts and calender and task, which is sweet.

Just more of an FYI for the one or two people still using hotmail. It also supports push.

Thanks for sharing. Due to your post in Dark's Dragonstorm thread, I actually had just signed up for a new Live e-mail account to try this out. Might be alright. Had stopped using Active Sync, don't know how long I'll keep this. At least it auto syncs.

Actually, I was thinking about that, when I was setting up the account on my phone, I told it to automatically detect settings, I wonder if that explains my lack of schedule and why my download images works.

I couldn't get it to automatically detect settings and had to enter the settings manually. Haven't tried the photo download yet.

Yeah it works alright, Might be even better then Googles Exchange, it would hang up every couple weeks.

So far so good with Hotmail exchange for me, I'm liking it.

vanillagorilla: Glad to see its up and running for you,

WR: I haven't had any issues with Hotmail itself, its been 100% since I started using the exchange client.

Also, I just noticed today that the "stacked" conversations, or however they call it when replies to an email thread are bunched together, shows up on the phone now. Its the little things that make me happy.

Absolutely, No I meant Googles exchange was hanging up on me, would not push or notify for a day or two here an there, was unsettling.

Hotmail So far, been spot on, and fast.

Happy happy joy joy.

I like it. It's way more convenient than I thought it would be. Thanks for the headsup.

I guess it makes sense, what with Microsoft actually running their own exchange servers, Id be worried if they messed that up. But yeah, spot on, and loving it. I never had my gmail set to push, but did have days of getting home to see my inbox full and nothing on my phone.

The live program worked I guess, but it was just an annoyance, you couldn't set push up, you couldn't change the mail settings, and it really just seemed bloated for what it did, and really didn't do, I like having my calender synced without having to run two different programs on my computer.

Etaduck...is hotmail and exchange still working as you planned? Just curious because I may be trying it soon. Cannot seem to get expo to sync with my win7/outlook 2010.

thanks,

Yeap, still working like a champ. Outlook still uses the live connect to sync to hotmail, and I don't really use my computer to sync my phone, so I can't really tell you if that part is working.
