Do a few people mind testing this for me? Might enable larger MMS attachments.

In the registry, try both doubling (1228800) and quadrupling (2457600) the value of the following keys (to clarify, both keys should contain the same value):

HKLM\Software\LGEMMSConfig\MM1\ATnT MMS\MMSMtsize
HKLM\Software\LGEMMSConfig\MM1\ATnT MMS\MMSMosize

sending messages of over 600kb and 1200kb, respectively, and then reporting back? Thanks!

I'll give it a go King.

Does it have to go out from my eXpo and then back to it?  Or can it go from eXpo to another device for download and check?

This is just a guess, but I suspect that those two registry keys dictate incoming and outgoing size limits. I figure we should experiment with our own phones first, over whose environments we have more control, and then send to other devices and see how they fare. My main concerns are that
A. Carriers throttle the size at the server level, in which case local settings don't matter, and
B. Many other phones may have incoming size limits which preclude messages over 600kb anyway.

Let's see how it goes Smiley

P.S. You should notice that after changing those registry keys, the GUI in LG MMS shows higher maximum caps. That's what gives me hope on this one.

Ok, so I sent a MMS with a 1020 kb photo in it to myself on the eXpo after changing the registry keys to the lower value first, then soft reset - received picture downsized to 386 kb  Undecided

Tried the higher value, soft reset and sent - still got a lousy 386 kb squished pic back  Sad

Will try downloading them on my other device instead and report back...

I did check that King, sorry to say.  Not sure whether the server restriction is on outgoing or incoming because it's the same device for both right now. Will try later on sending again and not opening the message on my eXpo, but on my Captivate once I swap the SIM card.

Looks like Spidertech figured it out - we were in the right reg entries King, but were too ambitious, lol. 1 MB network/server cap apparently:

Are you sure about it showing the higher caps? I found the same topic in another thread yesterday and changed both values to the equivalent of 3mb and under the GUI MMS settings the box where you select the max size is blank.

If a higher value than one of the pre-specified ones is put in, even if accepted, I believe the limit box stays blank. Assuming a multiple of 1024 was entered for the reg value.

That's right. If it's a value of 1024 (3072000 for 3Mb) then the box will be blank. If the value is not a multiple of 1024 the box will show the last setting used.

WOW I had no clue that that registry I mentioned would lead to this!

After recently upgrading to the *139 DS rom, I thought I would try out the reg tweak for 1mg mms attachments. I couldnt get it to work. I got an error stating it couldnt dl the message.
Anyone else having this problem?

charly

edit: first tried a 971kb then a 360kb, neither of which would download. Maybe I'll have a go at the registry...
