I would stay clear of this for now. Unless you can get the company to confirm that our device is supported. Otherwise this looks very interesting.

I got an update for that octopus box that I first posted. The LG GW820(expo) and GW825(IQ) is now supported. It even show a video on the official site. I wonder if is that easy by just clicking the buttons in order just from watching it. Wonder too if it can be reversed just in case.

I went to view the video on their site and it was "removed by the user" on youtube. Anyone care to look for it? Found it. Unlock of LG GW820Looks pretty simple and from what the video shows of the software, it has some pretty handy features. You could very well start your own unlocking/unbricking service with this thing XD

Well, I did buy it. Will be getting it mid-week. Maybe that rewrite firmware is what we need to get that custom rom.Huh. If I can somehow upload it. All considering that, it is legal to distribute as I see no copyright notice.

Success, This thing does work with proper driver files and 4 hours of tech support. Make sure the software is run as admin. Now I know how to do it. Here is an upload video from me on youtube. You'll be surprised I was! Ignore the date on video. I was just lazy . T-mobile Sim in AT&T Lg Expo

Carriers must supply unlock codes on request now. I got my HTC shadow code from T-MO with in a week of getting the handset.
Unless you are starting an unlocking service or writing firmware, the 190.00 dollars is a lot to put out when ATT will unlock for free..
Pretty cool device though.. You can charge well over 100.00 a pop to unlock handsets..

They have always been required to give the unlock code upon request, but from what I know you had to have the phone (or maybe just the service) for 90 days. So you're saying you got the unlock code within a week? That's pretty good.

Ya. It's the service. We have been with T-MO for years, actually came over when they bought Suncom..
I bought the shadow for my wife who hated it, I loved it but my cell is ATT provided by work. I had the shadow unlocked and used it with my work line. I explained to T-MO exactly what I was planning, use the handset with ATT..

So these people selling unlock codes on ebay just call AT&T with your handset IMEI number and get it for you? This would be a great way to make money with no start up cost, lol.

So those who went through your carrier to unlock your phone could you remember how many digits/space you needed to put in because I have unlocked two other peoples expo and I may have been seeing things the octopus box was adding one additional digit to the imei and wondering if that could be part of the unlock code. So I need to comfirm
