I don't hate the S-Class interface, but i find it cumbersome.

Especially when i am in a hurry.

SO what an where my problem lays is this, help me find the normal vanilla threaded text messaging on our phone.

I am after the plain vanilla threaded view when in the message itself, like Pocket Msn's messenger does an Wm normally does without this S-Class insisting on its style of threaded messaging and its styled inbox.

They are ok, but i want vanilla sometimes, so has anyone seen a way to get that back in their investigations?

Edit: TO enable WM vanilla threaded text messaging back when using Titanium, use this cab.

use advance configuration editor. newest version is 3.3. worked like a charm. you can also use it for many other tweaks as well

Im updating this thread to add,

That, ATC 3.3 does work for the Expo/Monaco as reported by users here.
(IE: SHutting off sent SMS notification)

Now, if your using a Telus branded IQ like myself, I am still looking for the answer to this query.
(If your using a Telus IQ an ATC worked shutting off this annoying message, please update this thread with that information please.)

I may have a dud, or Telus has altered the Reg. on the IQ's a bit.(which i suspect now)

WR

Edit: Latest update, Confirmed, the tweak to disable Sms Sent Notifications, using a Cab or tweaking the registry directly, does not disable this function as hoped on the Telus branded IQ's.
(Though it appears to work perfectly fine on the AT&T Expo/Monaco.)

If anyone makes the break through or discovers it, please come back an update this thread, many thanks.

Solution found!

Thanks go to Harpyboy at XDA, a big round of applause.

TO return the LG IQ of our phones,(Expo does not require this aparently, just Telus's IQ) version back to vanilla sms threaded text, use this reg edit as follows

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SMStext \
--- change DLL to "htmlnote.dll"

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SI\
--- change DLL to "htmlnote.dll"

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SL\
--- change DLL to "htmlnote.dll"

Now only difference inmy reg was the sms one, i changed, rebooted, shut off LG's Idles, selected WM Default, scrolled to text, opened a previous sms, an it was in fact, just as i wished, Vanilla WM threaded text messaging.

(Which before on the IQ, would default to LG's messaging interface even if selected through titanium, now, to change Sms an Mms tones, you will need "Dark's" Sounds an notifications cab found here on this foum to change the notification options for sms an mms.

Install, an you will be rocking in default WM style again, man its fast.

Enjoy

Yeah i felt alone with it too lol.
Once Dark an Expo owner said his worked, i was like wtf, then Stimpson(IQ owner) pitched in an confirmed it all, the IQ is slightly tweaked compared to the Expo software wise toward Idles.

Guess Telus felt customers would be happier in the LG gui then WM's, which is pretty short sighted of them.
I bet most that bought this phone did so knowing what was inside an looking forward to it.

Yeah hang around, stuff will bloom in these forums over next couple weeks i suspect Grin

Ok, So I re-did the registry settings to use threaded sms, and it disabled my sms sent notification again. Good news is no more random data connection, so it wasn't that. Thank god. Now I just need to remember where I put the registry edit to enable it again and I'll be all set! Hooray!

After installing the cab, I noticed that my message status on the home view always says "No unread messages" even when I get new messages. Receiving new messages does not change the status, but instead will show on a Notification button in the lower left corner when received. Does this relate to fixing the messaging to be threaded? I didn't notice another forum thread for this problem.

Hmmm, This cab and tweak has been rolled into a "Tweaker" Program in my signature.

It envelopes a lot of different tweaks for our phone.

Which gui are you using, the idles one or Titanium or vanilla WM?

I am pretty sure the only one that will work properly is Titanium or the Vanilla home screen one after tweaking with this cab.

Most of the point of this exercise was to get as far away from LG Idles interface as possible, so if your using half of it still after using this patch thats where the problem would lay.

My advice, uninstall this cab file, and goto the Tweaker program in signature and install that, you may need to read the install instructions as there is a update to be applied before it fully works.(Net 3.5 or 3.7)

Then you should be golden Wink

I'm using vanilla WM classic home gui because I can get a lot of info in a quick glance.

Thanks for your suggestions - I'll try them and let you know how it goes.
