Been following this thread for a bit now. I thought it was time to give it a go so I installed the Beta last night. I have to say it works great. did the benchmarking like Woodhole did and got the same results. Like WR I left it at 17ms. None of the LG software has given me a problem either. I think you have a winner here.

So far no glitches with the LG apps and things are running smooth. I agree with my fellow posters: I think we have a winner here :-D

Not seeing any difference playing video through TCPMP - is there a specific video driver setting I should be using? i.e. DirectDraw, GDI or Raw Frame Buffer, etc? Or is TCPMP not affected by this driver?

the current beta driver is open gl only (according to his post on xda)
you can try the direct 3d patch for tcpmp

Just a followup on this: installed the Direct3D patch from Chainfire's thread with no issues, and TCPMP did run smoother after that. Zero stutter on a very large, hi-res video clip (220 MB), but only if I set the video driver to DirectDraw - GDI and Raw Frame Buffer were unchanged.  If others have the same results, maybe both the D3D and GL drivers could be incorporated together into one package down the road.

They have been separated because some Snapdragon devices already contain DirectDraw/3D drivers that work equal or better for those devices than the driver from that package. Also, it is not an original work, it is just the driver taken from the TG-01. They will not be combined back together again as they really are two separate things, without any relation other than that they both can handle 3D drawing, albeit using completely different frameworks.

Makes perfect sense Chainfire, thanks for the explanation.  Consider my suggestion withdrawn.  Wink

the direct3d driver only works with the direct draw renderer, and it works well...

my test vid, using tcpmp's benchmark, went from 187 to 270-290... even figher if i overclock.

just tried the x2 version of xtract... which is slightly different (small animatic at the beginning, 3d model viewer for new costumes, seems like higher res textures)

it ran smooth until it had to load a new enemy, the animatic at the bginning and the model viewer had disappearing textures.

i changed the ini file to allow for smoother gameplay, but the texture issue in the mentioned sections remain.

the changes i made were:
under [WaveSound.WaveSound]
Stereo=False
Surround=False
3DHardware=False
made no sense since i'm using the built in speaker.

Under [AdvancedGraphics]
DynamicLights=True
ColorQuality=16

still playing around with
AnisotropicFiltering
TrilinearFiltering

in all honesty.... and a small screen i can't see the difference between 16 and 32 bit color

Yes the camera works fine with the latest version, and no, you do not have to install both.
