LOL... I'm stuck doing real work today  Cry

I've started making a list of the next version and found a few links to a bunch of reg. hacks errr.... 'edits' (all WM based). Have tested a few and they seem to work. I'm also thinking of dropping the .Net 2.0 version as I can see this becoming a pain in the future. I'm doing everything twice. It be easy if it was just cut and paste but the coding is a little different in 2.0. Might be easier to post a link to .Net 3.5 framework instead.

WarRaven, you funny guy!

Oh, that post I did about the proximity sensor and turning it off (Reply# 41, page 3)... didn't really help my display issue when the phone is in use... it still blacks out, only now it does it a little later on. And so the hunt for that registry continues.

I also have a request...

I need untouched original registry backups form the Expo. I'll pull the one off my IQ but as this project continues to grow I want to make sure that when un-checking our registry edits I'm defaulting back to the original settings. I need to make sure that if there is a difference in the registry from the Expo to the IQ that I switch back to the proper settings for the correct device. CeRegEdit works great although you will probably need to do 2 separate backups (unless you can figure out how to do them as one). One for "HKEY_CURRNET_USER" key with ALL sub keys and the other for "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" Key with ALL sub keys, seems all our reg. edits have been in one of those.

That’s all for now  Smiley

Hey,
Can use CEregedit an just image the registry complete, one shot thing.

If you have a back up handy, hard reset, plug into pc, set up without syncing, Image the Registry, and you have a copy, restore back up and away you go.

Yeah, an the program is working fine on mine..

This looks like it might grow some Wink

It's already growing. Early stages of auto rotation per application, Proximity sensor toggle, keypad back light delay (in 5 sec. intervals... I think?), max ring tone setting. The next copy will also display what version of the device it is (might even lock the app from making changes if it's not Expo or IQ). And the list continues to grow. Keep finding them and I'll add them.

I am stuck on one setting though... when dialing using speaker phone the display only appears for 15 sec's no matter what settings I've played with. This one is driving me nuts!... I'm starting to think that it's LG app specific.

And how do you do the reg in one shot?... wouldn't do it for me. Either way, Need to get my hands on a copy of the Expo reg.

Wow, this is going to be big!

Got me excited thinking of that tuneability.

On Ceregedit, goto, tools, back up/restore, image registry.

Keyboard backlight at 5 second intervals is perfect.

The dialer timing out is odd when its not near your skin at all, you can trip it prematurely, but once it goes off on its own, have to hit power to rewake from that state other then ending call.

Seems like, a lighting time out feature if the proximity is not being used in this example.

Yeah, Can't figure this one out and it's driving me crazy!
I turned the prox. off and it seems to play better as a device....although battery life went down a tad.

I just want EVERYTHING... that too much to ask?.....lol

Been away at work. I agree with WarRaven; the app works excellently. Thanks for this great app. I really wish I could start cooking for the eXpo/IQ soon. I'm starting to get a bit antsy. Haven't cooked in about a month.

Thanks again guys... and for the record... cookies are for eating  Cheesy

I second WarRavens comment about Dark cooking up a ROM.... need another beta tester when the time comes?....lol... see how it comes full circle?....lol

Ok, so I figured out my Dialer issue, sad to say it's not a simple registry tweak. Our devices are set within the registry to redirect the dialer to the LG dialer app. That would explain why everything I tried didn't work.

The good news is in restoring the default dialer it works the way it should, no more blackout in 15 sec.'s (that's a setting within the 'LgeDialerExt.dll' I'm assuming or it reads from some other place in the registry that I have yet found).

The drawback is that the OEM Dialer simply put...sucks!....lol... it's ugly!! But it works better (for me anyway) than the LG one did. Now I'm on the hunt for a replacement dialer so the fun begins again. I've found a lot of VGA dialers but they don't look right on this device... I sense a new threat being created?!...lol

I'll add the find to our tweak list "Restore OEM dialer" for those that disliked the LG dialer. And so the list continues to grow  Grin

Thanks Woodhole for the great tweaker app.
I wonder what reg entries the "enables missing sound and notification options" do. I did that and it caused some trouble with SPB MS 3.5, specifically the phone profiles icon disappeared. uninstall/reinstall didn't bring the icon back, restoring the reg to the state before I used the tweaker also didn't help. Actually after restoring the reg I opened up the tweaker and found that the option is still checked, all other items were reverted back to original state. anyway I ended up hard resetting my device. no big deal, I've got everything backed up so I just needed to reinstall the apps and delete the at&t bloatware.

oh. I bet you probably know about the reg for ringtone size limit, I think it would be a good idea to include in the tweaker. the advaned configuration tool doesn't seem to have it.
