Over the past few months, the Facebook app provided from Microsoft in the Marketplace began to give me problems where it wouldn't "refresh", basically making the app completely unusable.  Microsoft actually updated the Facebook app and released it in the Marketplace last week.  I was able to upgrade my app successfully via the Marketplace.  Things that I've noticed which are fixed (based on issues I had):

  • Manual refresh works
  • Refresh of the news feed on launching the app is now the behavior vs. having to manually refresh after launch
  • Photo tagging is now stable
  • Viewing comments seems to be stable

Has anyone else noticed any fixes or new features/behaviors?

Thanks for the news, I haven't used that app in a long while becasue it was such a pain. but FIM isn't much better. I just installed it, and off the top it seems to be better, but only time will tell. Thanks again for the update.

I noticed this, too. But I stopped using the MS app when I found XDA Facebook over on the XDA boards. It's a much better Facebook app, in my opinion.

I to use a combination of both really, MS because now its almost perfectly stable (still has NO features but....it works?) and XDA I am sorta keeping my eye out because I find it really slow right now. But hey, they dont got much farther to go according to their log list.

I rarely log into the Marketplace, but I did today and it notified me that Facebook was updated.  I ran the update, but I still have one major issue.  My Inbox doesn't show any messages.  The other tabs work fine, but my Inbox just sits on "Checking for Data....".

...Wait, it seems that it only shows new or recent messages.  I received a new message and it shows up in my inbox, but none of my previous messages do.  Pretty lame.
