You're out of luck if you wish to convert iPhone apps unless someone creates an iPhone emulator, (and why would anyone want to do that?), but your media files can, in most cases, be converted to run on your Expo. There are many free (and excellent) media converters out there if Active Sync (Windows XP/Vista) or windows mobile device center (Windows 7/Vista) fails to convert your media to run on your phone.

If you don't mind data usage, either program should get you what you need. I prefer Garmin for the interface & voice directions. You also can use a browser to get that info. Smiley

I thought Garmin XT would not use data...correct?

When you first set up Garmin, it will ask how you want to handle data usage. Your choices are Always, Prompted (default) and Disabled. If you want to change how you set it up, from the Garmin start panel, choose Tools>Settings>Garmin Online. Click Garmin Online Access, choose your new setting and click Done.

When I click disable I get the following prompt display:

1 - Use Bluetooth GPS

2 - Use attached GPS (with 4 options):

COM1: 7500 VSP Modem
COM6: Bluetooth Serial Port C...
COM7: Bluetooth Serial Port C...
COM9: 7500 COM port

What to choose or is there something else I should be doing?

Hockeyspy,

Go to settings, system, external GPS

You should be in the programs tab

it will ask you to select the port that programs will use to obtain gps data

make sure the selection is COM4 by default it is set to GPD9

load up garmin and get own your way.

Anyone know if there are map sets available that could be used "off-road" for trails & geocaching, etc?

If not, suggested applications appreciated as well.

My friends who are into geocaching all say that GCz II is the best they have used. It's available free from Omarket. They have several geocachinng apps.

Looking at it and trying to figue out if it uses data or not (hoping for an option which does not).
