Second public release of something a little more akin to a real app Smiley

1.0.2+ should ensure that the flashlight is properly de-initialized, not that I had any reports to the contrary, however, I still recommend upgrading. Smiley

The app now checks to see that you're running a Monaco. If not, it will still run, just without trying to intialize the light.

I could only verify the value returned for my IQ, so if the old version worked and the new one doesn't, go to the about screen and let me know what it says it's "running on".

The icon and image are from the Firestorm Iconset by Lechu
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=646967

Icons and images are now "original" ... I didn't have any
issue with Lechu's icons, I just couldn't find anything in his sets that were suitable for my further plans.

Requirements:
  • .net compact framework v2 or higher (comes pre-installed on factory roms, dragonstorm and most other roms)
  • a lg monaco (gw820/gw825/gw825v) with it's camera drivers intact

I have plans for additions to it including:
  • configurable timeout/keep the device from sleeping (kills the light)
  • error handling
  • signed executable

Set as LG Camera button, works great! This is going to come in very handy. How long can the flash be on until it starts overheating the phone?

I don't know.  Undecided  It's not using the "bright mode"[1] so it should be fairly safe for most people's sleep timeout.

I had my led on a large percentage of a couple of hours, but never for more than a few minutes at a time.

I'd suggest keeping an eye on it if you're going to be using it excessively (and then reporting back Wink ) but I haven't had a chance to really test it yet.

[1] Before anyone asks, I haven't figured out if/how I can enable bright mode

Of course  Grin

I'll see what I can do about finishing off the 'major' things before then; but damn, you're so quick that it might be your next next next build Tongue

Just keep at it mrpants, his next rom might be out before you are ready but his last rom will probably come sometime after his next upgrade. If he holds out for WP7, you got 'til Christmas or so.  Grin
